Hi tarquin

I am deeply with your site and will recommend it to any one who wants to
understand the web.

I think your excellent site could be just a bit better if you included a
page on java scripting, html, css tools that you use. For instance do
you use dream weaver and why what for, or do you use nvu.

Please could you create such a page with your perceived benefits and
pitfalls. This would be a grate help to me a university student trying
to get a grasp on all these things.

ps could you please include some open source tools as well even if you
don't use them just let us know why and what you think about them.

I never use any WYSIWYG editors, since they all produce the most
impressively bad code. This includes all the major ones, and the minor ones.
Mozilla's editor (and editors like nvu that use it) is as bad as the rest,
with its insistence on putting HTML attributes or inline styles all over the
place. I would not recommend any such tools for that reason. Everything I
produce is created using only a text editor, by hand. That is the only real
way to learn what to use, what the tags, elements, and styles mean, etc.
