I was just reading your speed test results at
http://www.howtocreate.co.uk/browserSpeed.html and I noticed the remark
about Mozilla 1.8a6 being faster than Firefox 1.0.
On the (rather self-serving) assumption that you're interested about
such things, the reason for that is that Firefox 1.0 is based on the 1.7
version of the Gecko rendering engine. There was a lot of work done in
the 1.8 cycle on precisely the sort of issues tested by your 'Script
Speed' test (amusingly enough, the site you used for this test was
amongst the set of sites we profiled when working on this).
Cheers,
-Boris

Boris,
Indeed, I have heard that Firefox 1.1 should include the new engine - I
look forward to it.
