SubjectMultiTorg Opera on your Acid2 screenshot page
Date11 March 2006 02:41
Hi.

I was wondering if you made those screenshots on page about Opera and Acid2. If
so, that means that you have MultiTorg Opera. Is it possible to get it from you?
I would like to have it as a piece of history :)

If you don't have it, do you know where can I get it?

Thanks in advance!

Yes.

Sadly not. I was lucky enough to be allowed to try it, but it is not
available for redistribution.

The version I tried is actually a beta of version 1, and is quite limited.
By default, it uses the SYSTEM front for everything (headers, paragraphs,
etc). It has no address bar even though the famous screenshots had them. It
could not connect to the Internet, since it expected a Win16 OS. It could
not use links in local files, because it only understood 8.3 file name
format.

However, if you are interested, I went through a lot of the features of it,
worked out how they all worked, etc, and built a replica of the
functionality using Opera 8. There are full instructions on how to do this,
if you want to try using the Web the MultiTorg way:

You don't have it any more or you're not allowed to redistribute it?

How did you load up Acid2 test in it then? Saved it localy and used relative and
short file names?

Nicely done :)

Will try it for sure to feel how was it back then :)

Thanks a lot for your answer :)
