Opera is by far the best browser currently available for mobile phones and
is currently moving quickly towards being the most popular:
It is the only mobile phone browser to allow full access to the web using
HTML.

Their site also has a lot of information about how to write web pages that
work well in mobile phones.
You can download demos, and even simulate mobile phone browsing using
Opera 7 for Windows or Linux (press SHIFT+F11).

All other mobile phone browsers use WAP, which is based on XML. The problem
is that this requires separate versions of web pages to be written, or for
tools to be used to convert (X)HTML into WAP. Most webmasters have neither
the time, money, resources or knowledge to do this, so WAP browsers restrict
users to a small subset of the web's total content.

see the links at the bottom of the page - they have a lot of useful info
about mobile phone browsing.
hope you find this useful
