Mr. Wilton-Jones:
I've been building some widgets for our site ([URL]) -- the
website of Dr. Dobb's Journal. And last night, a long way past midnight, I
was pulling my hair out in an attempt to hack up a
multiple-xml-file-loading version of the now-standard 'cross-platform'
single-file-loading snippet you see all over the place (the one, I think,
originating with PPK).
What a ... bizarre compendium of asychronous-programming hassles. But the
pounding ceased as soon as I did a Google search and discovered you'd
already solved all these problems to the nth degree. What a great piece of
coding!
Any chance you might let me excerpt it, along with your comments, as a
short feature on [URL]? Sadly, we have no budget in the form of
actual money, but we can offer ... I dunno ... t-shirts, CDs,
subscriptions, increments to site traffic and general fame?

John,
Thanks for the interest.

I have some guidelines for this sort of use here:
http://www.howtocreate.co.uk/aboutsite.html#saveprint
As long as you follow those guidelines, you are welcome to use it :)

Pleased to comply. Thanks ... And sorry for bothering you. I honestly
thought I'd read through the entire body of "things to study, learn, and
absorb before writing you" -- but apparently, I'm dull-witted. (grin)
