Marty,
(Note: usually, JavaScript links cannot be opened in a new window because
they refer to a function on the current page.)
This sort of problem depends entirely on the browser that you are using,
but you may find that JavaScript is disabled;
Opera: tools - quick preferences - enable javascript
Mozilla: edit - preferences - advanced - scripts and plugins - enable
JavaScript for navigator
Firefox: tools - preferences - web features - enable JavaScript
Internet Explorer on Windows: tools - Internet Options - Security - Select
the zone the website is using (ususally 'internet') - click 'custom level'
- enable 'active scripting'
Norton may also be disabling JavaScript, but I do not use Norton, so I have
no idea how you would change this setting.
This may also be caused by a popup blocker that is blocking popups from
opening, so you may need to enable popups:
Opera: tools - quick preferences - open all popups
Mozilla: edit - preferences - privacy & security - popup windows - do not
block unrequested popup windows
Firefox: tools - preferences - web features - do not block popup windows
Internet Explorer on Windows: tools - Internet Options - Security - Select
the zone the website is using (ususally 'internet') - click 'custom level'
- enable 'active scripting'
Norton may also be disabling popups, but I do not use Norton, so I have no
idea how you would change this setting.
It may also be that your browser is not properly installed, so you may need
to re-install it (download it from the vendor's site), or that it is not
correctly set as your default browser (check in the preferences for your
browser).
Of course, if you are using Internet Explorer, maybe this is a good reason
to try something better, like Firefox, Opera or Mozilla :)
Hope this helps you get it working
