Making menus using visibility in DHTML
This uses the stuff I mentioned in the DHTML section of the JavaScript tutorial. Once the reference is obtained, the visibility of the menu section is changed as described in that section. The onmouseover event is detected by the links. There are two versions of the menu control script; single level, and multi level. I suggest you start by learning how the single level version works first.
To download the script(s), see the script license, and check details like browser compatibility, use the links on the navigation panel at the top of this page.

A third level Another third level This is an extra level (second level). To create this, you will require the advanced multi level version of the script source. |
This an extra level (second level). To create this, you will also require the advanced multi level version of the script source. This one's got more writing in it though. Not that that makes any difference. It just shows you that you can put what you like in these menus. |
This an extra level (third level). To create this, you will also require the advanced multi level version of the script source. This is just an example of what you can do. If you wanted to, you could put these anywhere on the page. I have chosen a menu format. |
